Windows vista freezes on completing installation

Ok i got my problem figured out. Thursday, June 19, AM. I have the same problem. Wednesday, June 18, PM. I tried many methods but failed.

I have been trying to install Server which is the exact same Vista kernal and i have had the same problem as you My server has a maximum of 4 RAM slots and all of them are filled with 1GB in each slot.

Vista recognizes the drive, it will format it, and copy all installation files to the drive. It then reboots, prepares to start for the first time, and gets to the part where it says completing installation and hangs there.

The green progress bar no longer moves and it will hang indefinetely. At this point I would think the motherboard is bad, but I am also working on a 1 year old HP laptop with SATA hard drive that is doing the exact same thing.

Both systems came preinstalled with Vista Home Premium. Both systems see the hard drive, but will not complete installation. I even tried running the WD data lifeguard tools before installation with no luck at all.

There is no error message or error code, it just hangs and will not complete installation.
